Freshman Indoor Track Grabs the State Championship

Another season, another level, another title....the Green & Gold track & field tradition continues.

Last Friday, Coach Brennan's freshman indoor track team brought yet another state title back to home base, as the young Hawks routinely finished at or near the top in nearly every competition in the Freshman State Title meet. Kwity Paye was again a central figure in the day's overall outcome, as he was a key contributor in the team's first place finish in the 4 X 200 relay, the 55-meter and 300-meter dash and the long jump, where he finished first. The 4 X 800 and the 4 X 400 relay teams both finished in second place in their races, and Robert Merlino and Mike Bittner took first and second place respectively in the high jump. In all, the young Hawks accumulated 121 total team points.

The Network's Max Zweiner caught up with Coach Brennan for his reaction to the win:

The Hawks' victory was also highlighted in the online publication MileSplit, and the link to the piece can be found HERE.
Sixth consecutive state cross country title in the fall, Class A and freshman indoor titles in the winter, and the possibility of a 27th indoor state title on the horizon....that's not a bad program.

Not bad at all.
