Soccer Gets Fall Playoff Season off on the Right Foot

With the Hawks' season-ending victory this past Friday afternoon, our guys managed to secure the #6 seed in the state Division I playoffs, and last night they took advantage of that solid placement by defeating Cumberland, 3-1, in opening-round action.

Chris Cambio, Brennan Martin, and Lucas Gesmundo accounted for the Hawks' goals, and Danny Escobar was a rock in the net, racking up five saves while being around the ball every time it came near our goal.  Some of the action from last night's contest can be seen here:

The Hawks now move on to the second round, where they will face North Kingstown on their home field.  As the #3 seed, the Skippers received a bye and were idle in the first round.

Let's hope that some of the momentum our guys have built up here late in the season carries through to Friday night's game at NK.  Let's move to Round #3.
