Wrestling Takes Down the Falcons, 68-4

In the previous post here at The Network, it was noted in the headline that basketball's Senior Night celebration ended in disappointment.

Wrestling's Senior Night?...not so much.

Prior to the match, the Hawks' four seniors - also the team captains - were honored for their accomplished Hendricken careers.  Those seniors are Jason Davol (120 pounds and defending state champ), Hunter Boesch (182 pounds and returning state finalist), Pierre-Louis Arcand (220 pounds) and Dallas Sauer (the team's heavyweight).  Fittingly, the four senior captains capped off the home schedule of their Hendricken careers with four pins and led the Hawks to a dominant 68-4 win over the Cranston West Falcons.

The Hawks are now 15-0 on the season as they head into the final two matches of the season, matches that are arguably the biggest and most important of the season as teams look to establish some momentum leading into the state meet that begins on February 28th.  On Tuesday, our guys will square off against the also-undefeated Cumberland Clippers before making their way down to Academy Avenue to take on our archrivals, the Rams.

In terms of preparing for the state meet, it doesn't get any better than facing off against those two squads to end the schedule.
